Tron Peterson founded Peterson Outdoors in September of 2006. He is an Outdoor Writer, Videographer, Photographer, member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association, Missouri field rep. for Outdoor Ministry Network, owner of Peterson Custom Calls and an avid hunter.

Tron grew up hunting and fishing at an early age and developed a passion for God's great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting rabbits, squirrels, and other small game as well as trapping with his brothers. At age 16, Tron shot his first deer and turkey with a gun, and at age 17 took his 1st archery deer. Hunting his home state of Missouri, Tron has taken over 50 deer with both bow and gun as well as 36 turkeys, Antelope(Colorado), 8 archery coyotes, bobcats and numerous small game.

Tron's passion for hunting is only exceeded by his love for Jesus Christ and his Family. Wanting to pursue his passion for the outdoors and leave a legacy, Tron started Peterson Outdoors and Peterson Custom Calls. Both companies exist to make a positive difference in the lives of all who pursue their passion in the outdoor world.

Troy Peterson is Tron's identical twin brother and is also a published writer, photographer and videographer as well as a member of the Professional Outdoor Media Association.
Troy has also published 3 books, a western novel, and two children's books for young outdoor readers titled Grand Slam Turkey Tales.

Troy started hunting deer and turkey in 1986 at the age of 16. He took his first deer and turkey the following year with a gun , and arrowed his first archery deer in 1987.  Since that time, he has seen a lot of success and shared many good memories.

Troy was a professional deer and turkey hunting guide in Missouri and Kansas during the late 90's with a 99% success rate. He has won awards in National Calling Contest during the late 80's and has had the priviledge to hunt nearly a dozen states for over a dozen species.  In 20 years of hunting, Troy has taken 79 deer, 10 elk, 40 turkeys, black bear, antelope, bobcat, and coyotes. Most of these were taken with a bow.  The last several years, Troy's struggle with Lyme Disease and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, has limited his time in the woods and left him with some disabilities. Despite these disabilities, the Lord has allowed him to be successful in many ways and to be an example for many , that with God, all things are possible.

Travis Peterson lives near Nashville, Missouri and would be the first to say that God and family take first priority in his life. Travis has been married for 15 years and has two wonderful children. He started hunting at a young age, hunting rabbits, quail, and dove around age 10.  At age 14, he harvested his first deer and turkey with a gun. By age 15  he also harvested his first archery deer and turkey. Since that time, Travis has taken several deer and turkey with both bow and gun.

Travis looks back at his time spent hunting with his brothers as a fond memory and credits his time spent in the woods as something that kept him out of a lot of trouble  during his teenage years.

Tom Jarrett,
Born in 1953 Tom is a lifetime southwest Missouri native continuing the ownership and care of the Jarrett family farm purchased in 1959. He grew up enjoying closeness to the outdoors through fishing, hunting, Boy Scouts, and the never -ending farm chores. Caring for the farm animals and keeping the wood box full afforded him outdoor skills, knowledge and discipline he still uses today. " From my small town country farm life as a child to the shores of Vietnam at age eighteen, and now as a cancer-surviving grandfather, I know the Lord has always had a plan and purpose of for my life." Jarrett says, " As a Peterson Outdoors staff member, I look forward to sharing God's Great Outdoors with others!"

Joe Flynn,  Joe has lived in the Joplin Missouri area for about 11 years. Growing up in town, he never appreciated God's incredible creation. He went deer hunting for the first time approximately 5 years ago with good friend, Travis Peterson. Joe had so much fun, he could hardly wait until the next season in hopes of getting his first deer. Joe's hopes were fulfilled when he shot his first deer that next season. Since then, Joe has had the pleasure of taking his son and opening up this new life to him.

"I thought that getting my first deer and turkey was exciting, but watching my son get his first buck was one of the proudest moments a father could have", says Joe. "These are opportunities that I did not have and I look forward to sharing these exciting experiences with him."

Sid Allsbury, grew up hunting small game with his Dad, who taught him a lot about life, nature, and keeping laws. Years later, Sid took his family to Germany where they were missionaries there. During that time, he remembers the feelings he had around Thanksgiving as he looked into the German forests with a deep longing in his heart to be in the woods hunting again.

After moving back to Missouri, his friend Mike introduced him to deer hunting. Mike sold him a .303 British and a box of shells for $25.00. Sid took his first deer with that gun.

Sid has always been motivated by God's question to Moses when he said, "What  is that in your hand?" (Exodus 4:2) He feels that God is asking us that same question. There are many answers, but the wonderful thing is, God can use who we are and what we have for His glory. That's true of hunting, fishing, and all sports and hobbies.

Blair Wagner.  "I am blessed!". Raised on a farm in central Illinois where hunting, trapping and church were a major part of his life, Blair pursued a degree in Zoology, and during that time came to a saving knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ. Blair married his High School sweetheart....and they are still sweethearts today. He is dad to two beautiful kids. God has opened many doors for seasons of ministry as a missionary in Africa and several para-church organizations.

Sitting absolutely still, fully camoflaged and soaking in the sounds and sights of the woods, have become a fertile time for me to contemplate life, make decisions and assess relationships, with great clarity. Ironically enough, it is in embracing the patterns, rhythms, and simplicity of nature that allows me to put away the cares of this world.
